Dr. David Snyder Receives Past President’s Award

David Snyder of Snyder Optometry Receives Past Presidents’ Award from the Alhambra Chamber of Commerce

Valarie Gomez, Chamber past president and CEO of West San Gabriel Valley YMCA, presents the Past Presidents’ Award to Dr. David Snyder, Snyder Optometry.

The Alhambra Chamber of Commerce presented the Past Presidents’ Award, the Chamber’s oldest and most prestigious community honor, to Dr. David Snyder at the Chamber’s installation dinner on June 17 at Almansor Court.

This comes as a complete surprise to me,” he said. The award has been given for the past 50 years for effective leadership and participation in activities that are beneficial to the Chamber and the community.

Dr. Snyder has excelled in both business leadership and community service. The Chamber past president has cared for the vision and health of thousands of residents in Alhambra and the San Gabriel Valley community with multiple generations of families trusting their eyes to Snyder Optometry. He was on the board of directors for the YMCA; was appointed to the State Library commission in the mid ‘90s; and conducts vision screenings for underprivileged elementary and middle school children, working with multiple school districts in the Southern California area.

The grandfather of five has been a Chamber member for 45 years and has helped the Chamber achieve its goals and objectives for the community. He has been a Rotary Club of Alhambra member since 1984 and founded the Rotary teacher mini-grant program in 1995.

Dr. Snyder’s office is located at 22 S. Chapel Ave. His son, Dr. Harlan Snyder, has been with Snyder Optometry for 10 years, ensuring that the legacy and commitment to the community lives on for many years to come.
